Clarksville-Montgomery County School System

Ms. Kniffen’s Class 21-22

  1. If a cell phone is seen or heard, it will be confiscated until the end of the day.
  2. Mechanical pencils or #2 pencils are allowed in my class. If you do not have one, please get one when you walk into my class. (I also allow dark colored pens.)
  3. Rewards are given for following directions, being awesome, correct answers, or for being a leader. Your reward may be a PBIS point or a piece of candy. (Your choice)
  4. Please do not interrupt during instruction unless it is an emergency.
  5. I use popsicle sticks with student names to call on random students. Please pay attention!
  6. Hallway expectations are posted in the hallway. Go directly to your next class after I dismiss you, not the bell.
  7. When you enter our classroom, you are silent. Make sure you have all of your materials (see list).  You will get your computer out immediately and begin on your bell ringer for the day while I take attendance.
  8. During instruction, you will remain seated. You are only allowed to get out of your seat during independent work time to turn in assignments or exit tickets.
  9. Library passes are allowed only on Tuesdays and Thursdays during Advisory, if you do not have any missing assignments.
  10. Bathroom breaks will be limited to the very beginning of class and the very end of class. After receiving permission, you will sign out on the clipboard and get a pass from me.
  11. You may eat snacks as long as you do not distract the class and you clean up after yourself.  You may also eat candy that is given to you as a reward.  The only drink allowed in class is WATER.
  12. Every student is expected to take notes in their STEM notebook daily. These will be checked periodically for organization and content.  Students will refer to these daily, as well as be allowed to use them on quizzes and classwork. (Not tests)
  13. Inappropriate or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.  The first time will be a warning ticket; second time will be a ticket and a call home; third time will be a ticket, a reflection sheet, and detention; fourth time is a write up.  Students will respect each other and not laugh at each other for any reason.
  14. Words that we do not say in our class:  Shut-up, shut your mouth, bored, STUPID, DUMB, EASY, and CAN’T.
